Bush’s Accomplishments: How Many Women Freed? How Many Lives Saved?

When it comes down to it, I think President Bush is the best thing that ever happened to the Middle East.

Since 9/11, Bush has exposed the fanaticism of militant Islam, publicly outed state sponsors of terrorism, given 50 million human beings a chance at freedom, killed one of the worst dictators of the twentieth century and his two evil sons, created a fly trap in Iraq that draws the most militant of militants to their deaths and prevented another terrorist attack on our homeland.

What would you have said if you were told on 9/12/01, that Bush would accomplish all of those things by the time he left office?

And another thing, Bush is more of a feminist than Margaret Sanger, Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan all rolled into one.
While these ladies certainly worked as advocates for their cause and, whether you like them or not, made a difference in many women’s lives, President Bush has actually given millions of oppressed, devastated and dehumanized women, a chance to lead a real meaningful life, in eight short years. The difference he has made is tangible and real, but I fear, the only people who will ever realize the true extent of his actions are the future generations of free peoples.
Bush also puts his money where his mouth is, appointint many women to high offices in his administration, including Condi Rice, the first ever African American woman to serve as Secretary of State.

The Costs of War: No doubt, young Americans have paid the highest price to provide these opportunities to people all over the world, but they volunteered to for the mission and they deserve our undying gratitude and support for their efforts.

The left: The biggest mistake the left makes is equating the deaths of soldiers and civilians in a fight against tyranny, with the deaths of the innocent who die in terrorists attacks or by the hands of a ruthless dictator. They are not the same.
A soldier who dies for freedom is helping to give the next generation of people, at least a chance to live in freedom, while a death in a dictatorship goes unnoticed by all who aren’t directly affected and means nothing to future generations.

Please do not equate those who die in defense of freedom and those who die under the strong arm of tyranny. If brave young men and women were not willing to die for what they believe in, the rest of us would all be at the mercy of the most wicked among us.

How Many Freed? How Many Saved by the deaths of these men?

  1. I think Madeleine Albright would be surprised to discover that she wasn’t the first female SoS.

What about the reinstatment of sharia law across Shia-controlled Iraq? Seems to me that in many ways that is a step backwards, not forwards.

  2. You are absolutely correct. I apologize, Rice is the first African American female to serve as Secretary of State.

Second point: Oh, so the other side is fighting back so we should just run away, right?

  3. Not at all. We just need to pick the right fights.

And I just don’t find the Bush legacy on women’s rights to be the universally positive story that you do.
