Is Jimmy Carter a Bigot? Or Just another ‘Useful Idiot’?
Posted by The Dude on April 25, 2008
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations called Jimmy Carter a bigot on Thursday for meeting with the leaders of the terrorist group Hamas. While, in my heart, I have to believe that Carter is doing (and saying) these disgraceful things, in an effort to help, but he has to know that he is being deceived by these people. He is the embodiment of the phrase ‘Useful Idiot’.

Palestinians: Carter-Hamas meeting achieved nothing
“But Hamas is a terrorist organization that conducts premeditated, politically motivated violence deliberately targeted against noncombatants. Furthermore, despite repeated public and behind-the-scenes efforts to persuade the group to change its stance, Hamas refuses to renounce terrorism, and its policy calls for Israel’s destruction. Its media continue their incitement against Jews as “pigs” and “monkeys.” Hamas has engaged in an extensive military campaign of firing rockets and mortars from Gaza at civilian targets in Israel even though Israel has withdrawn from Gaza. It continues to smuggle long-range Iranian missiles through tunnels originating in Egypt. There is every reason to believe that Hamas would use a cease-fire to continue increasing its arsenal in an effort to provoke an even bloodier conflict.” — Carter lifts terrorists, undercuts peace, BHamas ready to accept Gaza truce…If…

So is Nelson Mandela a bigot and murderous terrorist?
April 25, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Edmund, thanks for the comment. Nelson Mandela is irrelevant in this conversation. He was never a United States President, and doesn’t carry the weight of the U.S. Government with him. Carter defied both political parties, the current president, the U.S. Congress and years of precedent, to meet with a terrorist organization. Even Europe won’t meet with hamas because they are too extreme.

But they are democratically elected. Is it also US policy to not talk to elected officials?

It is US policy not to talk to terrorists, democratically elected or not. These people are some of the worst murderers of children and innocents in the world.
